Edward Bernays – ” Engineering of Consent ”
He was an Austrian-American pioneer in the field of public relations and propaganda,
named one of the 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century by Life Magazine.
He believed in a sort of “Enlightened Despotism” An ideology of kakistocracy.
Bernays also pioneered the PR industry’s use of psychology and other
social sciences to design his public persuasion campaigns.
He played a key role in selling fluoridation
to New Yorkers in the 1960′s.
